Business Structures
LLC
An LLC or a Limited Liability Company is often used by new business owners. It can protect your liability to business debts as well as personal assets. You can choose how you are taxed.
S corporation
An S corporation (sometimes paired with an LLC) is used to avoid corporate taxes. Your personal and business taxes will be taxed together. As the owner, you can pay yourself and be taxed based on your income.
C corporation
A C corporation is for companies who plan to issue stocks and attract investors. Income is taxed twice: once for the business and once for the shareholders for dividends.
